AN IN-DEPTH LOOK AT OUR eBAY TEMPLATE

We have 30 different colors and 10 rotating scripts for our eBay templates. We try to add a sense of humor to the bidding/buying experience, but at the same time, we are very serious about selling and representing the item with as much detail as possible. Each of the numbers in red corresponds to a short description below the template.

Here's another rare find brought to you by endangeredcds! By the way, this is not a CD-R, a rascally bootleg, a slapstick imitation or anything less than what you'd expect from a powerseller with 1700+ positive feedbacks. If you have any questions, concerns or theories on how to save the world, please feel free to e-mail me. THANKS!
THIS CD's GRADE OF CONDITION BASED ON THE CRITERIA BELOW 9
GR
A MINT. Scratches or marks are impossible to find. In fact, you'd have a better chance of finding a soft weiner at a Viagra company barbeque than finding an imperfection on this CD.
B Near MINT. Wrinkles and signs of aging are almost non-existent. Conclusion: CD must have used Oil of eBay, er, Olay.
C CD has some noticeable wear. Comes with a few marks and lines, but don't worry- I won't charge you extra for 'em! :)
D Rough. Disc must have had a bad itch at one time... how else can you explain all the scratches?
E Hurtin'. CD looks more beat up than my face did... after I played dominoes with parked Harleys outside a biker bar!

10 THESE LOVELY, DISTINGUISHING FEATURES ONLY APPLY TO THIS ITEM IF YOU SEE AN X BESIDE THEM:
OBI     PR0M0     RECORD CLUB     SPINE CUT/DRILLED     PUNCH HOLE     CLIPPED COVER

HOUSE RULES
  • 11  NO RESERVE. I don't believe in reserves. Let me put it another way: Santa Claus, the Tooth Fairy, the Easter Bunny, reserves on an endangeredcds auction. Notice a pattern here?
  • 12  NO SKY-HIGH OPENING BID EITHER!
  • 13  GUARANTEED TO PLAY WITHOUT PROBLEMS. There are 2 buttons on most CD players: play and stop. If the CD you won disobeys the first command or confuses the two orders, please send it back for a complete refund (less shipping). We will take the troubled disc into our endangeredcds broom closet and, using a long cane or a clenched fist, give it a little "re-education"!
  • 14 LOW SHIPPING RATES: Just $2 within Canada , $3 in the United States , and $4 for my friends outside of North America Additional items just $1 each for U.S. and Canada, $2 each for everywhere else.
  • 15  POSITIVE FEEDBACK FOR EVERY MAN, WOMAN AND CHILD WHOSE TRANSACTION ENDS SUCCESSFULLY!
  • 16  NO PERSONAL CHEQUES- CASH, MONEY ORDERS or PAYPAL ONLY!
  • 17  NO BIDDERS WITH NEGATIVE FEEDBACK BALANCES. Take a look at your feedback. Is it positive like Tony Robbins? Or negative like Oscar the Grouch? If your profile wins the "oscar", please don't bid on my item(s). Thanks!
  • 18  DEADBEATS WILL BE BEAT DEAD! Let's be fair to each other. You win, you pay. A simple concept, really. I'm sure even Jessica Simpson could get her head around it.

1 ARTIST: The artist's name is clearly stated at the top of the auction page.
2 Title: The title of the CD appears directly beneath.
3 Format: Some sellers try to list cassettes or LPs in the CD category. This states clearly what the format is.
4 Label: Label, where available, is provided. Often, the country will be added if it is pertinent to the item. As well, a serial number may be included if the CD is a first pressing, of special interest or very rare.
5 Year: Year of original release is found here. If year of original release is not available, the year the CD was pressed may be found in its place. Alternately, both year of original release and year CD was pressed (if different) may show in this area.
6 Recommended if You Like: We try to compare the CD to other, similar artists as best we can. As well, other projects or earlier work the artist has done may be noted here as well. (Note: some auction pages will not include this field.)
7 Tracks: Many sellers can't be bothered with track lists. Endangeredcds provides them because we think it is vital information. Bonus tracks are highlighted in this field, where applicable.
8 Description: The item is described in short detail.
9 Condition: We strive to sell CDs that are graded C or better. This grid takes into account both condition of the actual disc and the included packaging (front and back inserts, OBI, etc). Grading does NOT apply to the jewel case. If the disc itself is MINT yet there is some tab wear or promotional cuts, the CD will not be assigned a MINT grade. If CD is factory sealed, it is graded A+.
10 Distinguishing Features: If any of the features apply, you will see a colored X in the designated box.
    • The OBI is a narrow strip of paper packaging indigenous to Japanese pressed CDs. The word OBI literally means "sash" or "belt". It is worn around the left spine of the CD and provides the Japanese buyer with some extra product information in his/her native language. More critical buyers often view a Japanese pressed CD without an OBI as incomplete or less collectible. Some eBay sellers chose to ignore the absence of an OBI with the CD, but endangeredcds prefers an honest, up-front description of the item wherever possible.
    • The PROMO field is marked when a CD has been promo-stamped or otherwise intended "not for sale". While sawmarks and punch holes often indicate promotional use, we have separated them into their own fields because they give the CD a noticeably different physical appearance.
    • RECORD CLUB pressings are also specified, as many collectors deem them inferior to regular retail CDs.
    • SPINE CUT/DRILLED is marked in the event that sawmarks or drill holes appear in either of the CD spines.
    • The PUNCH HOLE option will be indicated when there is a punch hole in the insert(s). Often these occur in the UPC portion of the back insert, but may appear in other places as well.
    • COVER CLIPPED will apply to a CD where a triangular cut has been removed from one of the corners of the front cover. It also applies to sawcuts in the top or bottom.
11 Reserve Bids: Never a reserve bid on an endangeredcds auction.
12 Opening Bids: Some sellers price their items out of the market with a high minimum bid amount. We generally start all our auctions at $4.99 US.
13 Guarantee: We cannot guarantee a CD's delivery unless you chose registered/traceable/insured shipping. We cannot be held responsible for lost or misdelivered packages. To safeguard against postal system error, we do recommend traceable/insured shipping. However, we have had an unprecedented amount of success without these additonal precautions. We DO guarantee against defects not specifically mentioned in the auction description.
14 Shipping: We have the lowest shipping costs among Canadian used CD sellers. Multiple auction winners will save even more, as additional items are just $1 each for US and Canadian buyers, and $2 each for everyone outside of North America. If you chose to have your CDs sent without jewel cases, the same rates will apply. The cost for registered shipping (with insurance) is an additional $10 US on top of the aforementioned shipping fees. So for example... if you win 2 CDs, live in Europe and want registered shipping, your total in US dollars is: $16. ($4 for the first CD, $2 for the second CD and $10 for insured/registered shipping.)
15 Feedback: We always leave positive feedback, usually 48 hours after payment is received. When possible, we provide the date of dispatch in this feedback comment. Typically, the delivery time is between 7-14 days, depending on your geographical location.
16 Payment Forms: Acceptable forms of payment: Paypal (preferred), international money orders (USPS money orders MUST be the pink/orange ones and NOT the green ones), and cash (at your own risk). Forms of currency accepted: Canadian dollars, US dollars, Euros, Japanese Yen and British pounds ONLY.
17 Bidder Restrictions: Any eBay member with less than a (O) feedback rating will have their bid(s) automatically withdrawn from an endangeredcds auction. If a bidder has a noticeably high number of negatives, yet a positive overall feedback balance, we also reserve the right to cancel their bids. As well, any bidder who has received a negative feedback comment from us will be disallowed bidding privileges on future endangeredcds auctions.
18 Negative Feedback: We usually wait 30 days before leaving negative feedback. We also try to do everything we can to reach a settlement before leaving a negative comment. We would appreciate the same courtesy in return, should you have any issues with our products/services.
